The versatility of Semillon is what makes it such a pleasure to work with. The exploration of these old vines continues. 2019 allowed me the ingredients to make a “Hunter Valley” style Semillon. Bright acids, salted lemons, and a base note of honey. This is the lightest version of Semillon to date.

Previous vintages of this wine explored the vast array of styles that Semillon can embrace. These styles were dictated by vintage and not by any fancy winemaking. One style that I was not sure would be possible here in Forest Grove, was the “Hunter Valley” style. Then 2019 arrived. The 2019 version is a higher acid, lean, bright, electric version that has already started to pick up those secondary flavors in bottle. This wine spent a full year in bottle before being released. This style also brings the return of the green glass bottle.
