A CUP OF YIRGACHEFFE
Our 6th vintage making a Syrah dominant wine from the Willamette Valley. This 2021 vintage might be one of our best. It certainly took a herculean amount of patience. Aged for 29 months in our special Tonnellerie Quintessence wooden eggs, this wine demanded time. The natural convection from the egg shape helped to create this incredible array of ‘Garrigue’ notes in the wine. No doubt brought on by our “stem-back” process. These select stems were added to the co-fermentation of Syrah and Viognier resulting in herbal aromatics combined with explosive black and blue fruit notes. Reminds us of Ethiopian Yirgacheffe coffee. Completely unique Oregon Syrah. Unfined – Unfiltered.
