Having resisted being the 1,000 winery to make a Willamette Valley Chardonnay, I held out until there was a unique sourcing opportunity or compelling story to tell. I started working with clone 548 during the 2018 vintage and it took me a few vintages to make something that stood out. We have enjoyed much critical success with this wine.

Sometimes it’s the least popular clones that can make the most individual of wines. For us, the lack of “productivity” of clone 548 is an asset.
